Tristan Dobbs. RHP6 2. NJSA Youth Spotlight National Swine Registry. Perry, Kansas The NJSA would like to recognize Macy Scott, 1. Perry, Kansas as a youth spotlight. Macy has two siblings, Ainsley who is eight and Boede who is five. Macy is the daughter of Cory and Tami Scott. A freshman at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas, Macy is a member of the livestock judging team. When she was in elementary and middle school, Macy enjoyed playing volleyball and softball. When she moved up to high school, it was FFA and FCCLA events that took center stage. During her senior year of high school, Macy was a Kindergarten Peer Tutor for two hours every day, and she says that was a major highlight in her life. When asked about her favorite activities outside of school, her answer was resounding, Showing hogs My days mainly consisted of feeding, walking, and grooming hogs, and of course keeping the barn clean also. Macy also enjoys watching her sister play volleyball, softball, and basketball, and watching her brother play T Ball and basketball. When she wasnt out showing, Macy says there was always a little time to do some shopping or get her nails done. She also liked to check in with friends and family on the very few weekends she was actually home. Macys favorite quote is Live every day to the fullest because tomorrow is a gift, not a guarantee. She says her favorite show is definitely the North American International Livestock Exposition NAILE, but World Pork Expo is a close second. Macy started showing pigs in 4 H at age seven. Throughout the years, showing has taught Macy many life lessons such as responsibility, public speaking, getting out of her comfort zone, and the list goes on. She says she cant forget that it allows her to travel the United States meeting new people and seeing new scenery. When asked what she enjoys the most about showing pigs, Macy responded, I show pigs because I love meeting new people, talking to everyone who enjoys what I enjoy, and its a family setting for most families like mine. Instead of family vacations we go to shows. I get to meet people like Brian Anderson who has taught me lessons far beyond showing hogs, and Bobby Listen who I truly enjoy watching judge shows, listen to on the microphone, and talking to outside the arena. Most of all, I get the chance to work with children and teach them the work ethic, responsibilities, and rewards that come from showing hogs. I get to lend them a helping hand on how to work hard at home, ways to drive a hog, and show them products to keep skin fresh and soft. Showing hogs is about more than showing hogs. To me its not about how many buckles Ive won or the banners and plaques hanging on the wall. Its about life lessons, opportunities for my future, and the absolutely unforgettable memories made with family and friends on the ride there or at the show and even the dinners during the weekend and time at the hotel. Banners fade, buckles tarnish, but the memories last forever. Macy would like to let younger NJSA members know that it is an organization that teaches lessons far beyond showing hogs. Its a place you can be yourself and express your passion for hogs. Super Mario 3 Games For Windows 7'>Super Mario 3 Games For Windows 7. Its a place where you learn how to get better by watching and being taught, but most importantly a place that gives you millions of opportunities to have fun, make memories, make friends, travel, and step out of your comfort zone. Never be afraid to jump out of your comfort zone and jump in to the activities and opportunities the NJSA has to offer. The most memorable NJSA moment for Macy was when she had the opportunity to travel to Hamburg, New York for the NJSA Eastern Regional, and also being awarded the 5th overall senior showman at the 2. World Pork Expo.   Macys future plans include finishing up at Fort Scott Community College, then transferring to Oklahoma State University to further her education. When asked what she wants to do someday, Macy admits her plans have changed quite a bit recently but as for now she is set on studying Animal Health and Nutrition with a focus on swine. The NJSA would like to congratulate Macy Scott for all of her accomplishments and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors Submitted by Kane Austin, NJSA Junior Board President.
